Kala Bhuna is one of the most beloved slow-cooked beef dishes from Bangladesh, known for its deep, rich flavors and beautifully spiced aroma. In this demo-style cooking experience, you’ll learn how this iconic dish is prepared from scratch as tender beef is slowly cooked with warming spices to develop incredible depth and complexity.
Shuraya will guide you step by step through the foundations of the dish, including flavor-building techniques and the traditional kosha process, where the beef is patiently slow-cooked until deeply caramelized, tender, and nearly falling off the bone.

Your host, a passionate home cook, will welcome you into her cozy Cranston home with warming tea and appetizers before diving into essential techniques, spice combinations, and the art of balancing flavors. The class is demo-style, but guests are encouraged to gather close, observe, ask questions, and soak in the aromas as the dishes come together.
The evening concludes with an elegant, communal dining experience where guests will enjoy 5–6 home-style dishes while learning about Bengali culture through Shuraya’s personal stories.
